Rabbits, guinea pigs and birds are easily overlooked when holiday plans are made, yet they depend on routine just as much as any dog or cat — and they are happiest cared for at home, in their own hutch, run or cage.
Our small pet sitting brings the same in-home drop-in service trusted by Biggleswade's cat owners to the smaller members of the family: visits once or twice a day with feeding, fresh water, cleaning, a quick health check and a WhatsApp photo update so you can see for yourself that all is well. Fully insured, DBS checked and caring for local animals since 2010.
Care tailored to small animals
Small animals have precise needs, so every visit follows the routine you set out for us. We feed exactly as instructed, refresh water bottles and bowls, and keep hay topped up for the grazers. Cages, hutches and litter areas are cleaned so your pets stay comfortable and hygienic throughout your time away.
Just as importantly, we look as well as feed. Small pets are good at hiding illness, so at each visit we check that everyone is eating, drinking and behaving as they should — and if anything seems off, you will hear from us straight away. Medication can be given where needed.
Who we care for
Rabbits and guinea pigs make up most of our small-animal visits, alongside birds — from a single budgie to a chatty flock. Over the years we have also been trusted with chickens, tortoises and most small animals you can think of (one long-standing client will confirm we have watered the plants, too).
If your pet is a little more unusual, just ask. As long as we can care for them safely and confidently in your own home, we are usually delighted to help — tell us all about them at your free meet & greet.
Holiday cover you can trust
Every visit ends with a WhatsApp photo update, so wherever you are, you will see full bowls, fresh hay and contented faces. We are fully insured and DBS checked, your keys are stored tagged with a code — never your name or address — and while we are there we can add the small home-security touches that keep your house looking lived-in: lights, curtains, bins and parcels.

Small Pet Sitting FAQs
Yes — cleaning is part of the service, not an extra. We clean cages, hutches and litter areas as needed and change bedding in line with your usual routine, so your pets are as comfortable on the last day as the first.
Once a day suits most rabbits, guinea pigs and birds, while pets that need morning and evening feeds — or medication — do better with two visits. We will agree the right pattern at your free meet & greet.
